An extraordinarily innovative & creative endeavor which Desert Wind thinks of as their gift to the world community. If you are tired of hearing the same old Christmas tunes, & want something more, something new, enlivening, powerful & elusive, this CD delivers! It is a refreshing change from the ordinary holiday music. Familiar Christmas songs are merged with luscious ancient rhythms from the Middle East. The exotic rhythms infuse the standards with new energy, making this the premiere holiday album to add to your collection. Yet, the album is distinct in that it does not overwhelm the listener as being entirely "Christmas music." While most of the tracks are Christmas songs, there are a few festive pieces you’ll want to hear and dance to year round. While mostly instrumental, a few of the songs include soulful vocals delivered with insurmountable passion & drive. Amazing Grace is one of these, & is bound to be a year round favorite. As usual, the instrumentals are a percussive blend of rhythmical spice & powerful, sultry, passionate zeal. Adding to the album’s immense grace and proportion is the final song which is added almost as a closing prayer, Tikkun Olam (Healing the World.) Overall, this CD is one holiday album that anyone (even those who don’t care for Christmas music) can enjoy. 15 tracks.

Inspired by tales of Robin Hood and Maid Marian, Celtic harpist Marchand presents fourteen soft and gentle instrumentals which describe "The Blessing of Sherwood Forest" and other scenes from Nottingham in days of old. Featuring 25-, 36- and 38-string harps accompanied by violin, acoustic guitar, flute and keyboards, the music flows effortlessly and gives rise to reveries of sun dappled, verdant clearings where clandestine lovers meet and dance in homage to the Green Man. Due to his emotive technique -- particularly on the wire strung harp -- Marchand's original compositions rate as highly as the two traditional numbers included, "Cutting of the Fern" and "Child Grove." Taken altogether, this is a supremely pleasant, consistently relaxing listening experience well suited for massage or other introspective pursuits. 14 Tracks.

The Celtic era produced various kinds of religion some of which contained magical rituals that were thought to have been lost through the ages. However the knowledge of invocations and the oral history of their powers is still alive today. In the modern era their ancient earth-centered power is stronger than ever when contrasted with the current cold, impersonal, high-tech computer age. Thea is one of the few people, who has been chosen to reveal some of this knowledge through her iniliation as white-magic witch. Over the years she has gathered and learned many of these traditional summons and prayers that are spoken during rituals. Many conditions of the ritual have to be considered and employed in accordance to cosmic laws. This is the main groundwork that has been laid to unite and express these cosmically powerful summons and prayers through dance and music. Throughout the CD the magical atmosphere of the particular ceremony being held is created. The summons of gods and goddesses and nature's power create a very intense feeling for the listener. Energy is flowing and if one concentrates the forces of its approach are almost visible. Dramatic tension builds and allows one's perceptions to advance. The aniticipation and creation of atmosphere is typical for each song on this album. All songs follow the specific rules and framework characteristic of wicca rituals. Thea recorded every spoken part on this CD while she was in trance. You can feel every change of her body and mind. This direct recording approach taken for the first time with ancient rituals was exciting for everybody working on this album. No one could deny the deep impressions left by each song. Due to the combination of Thea's incredible performance and the magic of old wicca-rituals these recordings leave a lasting impression. This CD has been made in order to recharge nearly forgotten memories and feelings, and re-visit the ancient era of the wicca's past.
